This #GameOfThrones location is near Castle Ward, just an hour south of Belfast. A must visit to any GoT fan! One of the courtyards was the original Winterfell in the show’s first season and several other scenes have been filmed all over the grounds, from both Robb Stark and Tywin Lannister‘s war camps to Brienne and Jamie climbing ashore on the Trident only to find some hanged bodies and three very belligerent Stark soldiers. The absolute highlight of our visit though was the Game of Thrones Archery experience. Getting to dress up in Stark family costumes and shoot an actual bow and arrow in the Winterfell courtyard? Pure awesomeness. #travel #filmtourism #filminglocation #NorthernIreland

Day 13: Game of Thrones, Tollymore Forest Park, Northern Ireland . A fun and tricky one! Finding this Game of Thrones bridge wasn’t easy. We had to use all our location research skills to find the exact location of this one, but finally managed to do so thanks to some amazing photographer who had left the gps coordinates from the camera to a photo they snapped of the bridge – without even knowing it was the Stark family one! What an adventure. …but when it’s a #Khaleesi sceneframe you’re gunning for, you’ll do your best to get there! For this shot we left the car behind, but the floods kept getting worse the further we got. So we never reached the actual point where they filmed this – however, that certainly is the same hill in the background! So let’s just say it was 50% of a success 🙂 (2/2) . #gameofthrones #northernireland
