Πέθανε σε ηλικία 80 ετών ο εξαιρετικός ηθοποιός Ντέιβιντ Γουόρνερ, γνωστός από τους ρόλους του στις ταινίες «Τιτανικός», «The Omen» ( Η Προφητεία) και «Star Trek».
Ο Βρετανός ηθοποιός πέθανε την Κυριακή από ασθένεια που σχετίζεται με τον καρκίνο στην κλινική Denville Hall, όπως ανακοίνωσε η οικογένειά του.
«Θα λείψει πάρα πολύ σε εμάς, την οικογένεια και τους φίλους του, και θα τον θυμόμαστε ως έναν καλόκαρδο, γενναιόδωρο και συμπονετικό άνθρωπο, σύντροφο και πατέρα, του οποίου η εξαιρετική κληρονομιά άγγιξε τις ζωές τόσων πολλών ανθρώπων όλα αυτά τα χρόνια. Είμαστε συντετριμμένοι», αναφέρεται στην ανακοίνωση της οικογένειας. «Αφήνει πίσω την αγαπημένη του σύντροφο Λίζα Μπάουερμαν, τον πολυαγαπημένο γιο του Λουκ και τη νύφη του Σάρα, την καλή του φίλη Τζέιν Σπένσερ Πράιορ, την πρώτη του σύζυγο Χάριετ Έβανς».
Στη μεγάλη οθόνη ο Ντέιβιντ Γουόρνερ είχε υποδυθεί τον βοηθό και σωματοφύλακα του Μπίλι Ζέιν, Σπάισερ Λάβτζοϊ, στο blockbuster του Τζέιμς Κάμερον «Τιτανικός» (1997), ενώ είχε επαινεθεί για την ερμηνεία του στον ρόλο του φωτογράφου Κιθ Τζένινγκς στην ταινία τρόμου «The Omen» (1976).
Είχε αποσπάσει υποψηφιότητα Bafta Α΄Ανδρικού Ρόλου για την ταινία του 1966 «Morgan: A Suitable Case For Treatment» (στην Ελλάδα με τίτλο «Μόργκαν: Ο Τρελός Εραστής»), στην οποία πρωταγωνίστησε πλάι στη Βανέσα Ρεντγκρέιβ.
Είχε τιμηθεί με Emmy για τον ρόλο του στη μίνι σειρά «Masada» της δεκαετίας του 1980, με πρωταγωνιστή τον Πίτερ Ο’ Τουλ, όπου υποδύθηκε τον Ρωμαίο πολιτικό Pomponius Falco.
Είχε παίξει στο Μπροντγουέι στο έργο του Τζορτζ Μπέρναρ Σο «Ταγματάρχης Μπάρμπαρα» (2001), στην ταινία «You, Me And Him», όπως και στην ταινία «Η Μαίρη Πόπινς επιστρέφει» (2018) όπου έπαιξε τον απόστρατο αξιωματικό του ναυτικού ναύαρχο Μπουμ.
Ο συγγραφέας και ηθοποιός Μαρκ Γκέιτις ήταν μεταξύ εκείνων που απέτισαν φόρο τιμής στον Γουόρνερ μετά την είδηση του θανάτου του.
